My first peppers... a lesson learned

So I have a bunch of things growing on my patio. It is so much fun. Here are my first peppers! Yay!

However there is an important lesson learned here.... don't let the peppers get too close to the metal railings in the heat as they will literally melt the peppers.....

Poor guys, here is what they looked like from the inside. Sadness. 

I have some more peppers growing and away from the metal. They look better already!!!! But lesson learned!
